The cathedral was last renovated 30 years ago. At first glance, some people may think: everything is fine. But a closer look reveals many deficiencies. In the right aisle, for example, there is no longer any power supply. In some places you can clearly see how the moisture penetrates the masonry and attacks plaster and paint. But even a close look does not reveal the true extent of the damage.
A thorough analysis of the building defects in September 2014 revealed the scope of the renovation requirements.
The list of damage is long and worryingly:
Moisture damages in the church
Moisture visibly attacks the paintwork of the room shell.
Crumbling electrical system
The electrotechnical systems in the church building do not consistently meet the requirements in terms of use and safety.
Obsolete heating technology
The existing church heating system is technically obsolete.
